Simply Ceroc Weekend 2010

Events

Friday Night

When: Friday 23 October 2009, 8:00pm to 12:00am
Where: Shooters Bar
These have always been fantastic nights, no classes or cabarets, just eating, drinking dancing and catching up with everyone from out of town as everyone arrives all pumped up for a great weekend ahead.
We have arranged 2 whole floors to ourselves in this large venue so there will be plenty of dancing space. There are 2 bars and a basic pub menu is available which should keep you fueled.
We have kept the price right down this year and the whole evening is only $10. Due to popular demand our dance cards will be back to get you mixing and mingling with others from different parts of the country with a prize draw of a new pair of shoes for all those participating, kindly donated by GlamourDance Shoes.
The Friday nights have always been a very popular part of the weekend. With everyone arriving into town there is a real buzz. Adam will be your DJ so get ready for some rocking tunes to get you in the mood for a great weekend.

The Showcase Spectacular

When: Saturday 24 October 2009, 8:00pm to 12:30am
Where: Wellington Performing Arts Centre
The Showcase Spectacular is now sold out. Send an email to ceroc@cerocwellington.com to be added to the waiting list.
This is your chance to watch some of New Zealand’s best dancers rise to the occasion and perform for their loud, adoring fans. With few rules and no judges they are sure to impress and inspire. The showcase will include performances from all of the Simply Ceroc workshop instructors, so come along and show your appreciation.
After the showcase the lights go down and the music comes up. The auditorium turns into a dance party, with our guest DJ. There will also be, of course, the infamous “Chillout” room DJ’d by Adam Nathanson and the increasingly popular themed room for even more dancing space.
Numbers are STRICTLY LIMITED. BYO.

SHOWCASE PERFORMERS
Strut your stuff, show us what you've got. Everyone is invited to take part as a performer in the showcase. It’s great experience performing for an audience without the added pressure of competition and everyone is a winner with our goodie bags and half price Simply Ceroc DVDs for performers (only 2 goodie bags for each performance). We can only take limited performances so you MUST complete a showcase registration form.
Please ensure you post your music (2 CD's named and titled please) 1 week prior to the weekend (that's by 16th October) to: PO Box 46047, Park Avenue, Lower Hutt
For those of you who wish to have a run through of your routine prior to showtime, Studio 1 will be available from 6.30pm - 7.30pm. If you do want to practice, please let us know when you send your CD's to us. We will contact you via email/phone to confirm the practice time you have been allocated. Studio 3 will be available for you to get ready and to warm up in. All performers are to have checked in with the Stage Manager in Studio 3 no later than 7.00pm.

The Enchanted Ball

When: Sunday 25 October 2009, 7:30pm to 1:00am
Where: Te Papa
As the evening draws near, the veil between the worlds begins to fade. Come with us on a twilight journey filled with dance, revelry and unearthly entertainment. Lost within the borders of chaos and light, nobles dance among the Fey, where inspiration and fantasy meld under mask and cloak, and legends take precious breath. Here is where our dreams are born.
Dress to impress the Faerie Court or let your imagination run wild bringing a diverse host of creatures, mythologies and fantasies alive. Two stunning pieces of jewelry are the prizes for the enchanted lucky charm draw, kindly donated by Brian and Helen Barrett of BHB designs.
A full 3-course dinner is served as part of the evening. Bread and dips etc will be served to your table along with an entree. You then help yourself to the buffet main course and dessert is served to your table later in the evening.
A bar is available so please do not BYO drinks. The bar may not have eftpos available so come prepared with cash.
There is a cloakroom available in the foyer for you to keep your coats etc safe during the evening.
Doors open at 7:30 and dinner starts at 8pm, so we suggest that you don't need to be at Te Papa before 7:30. Seating is not organised, you simply choose which table you want to sit at when you get there. Tables seat 10 people.
There are some tables reserved for the organisers of the weekend and people who have bought the beginners package, and please contact us if you have a group of 10 people organised and we can allocate a table for you in advance.
We suggest that you dress as for a Ball - men, a tie or costume is preferred. Anyone wearing jeans or t-shirts will be refused entry.
All tickets are sold in advance and no bookings can be taken less than 7 days before the event.
